12-16-2007 Storm Damage
During the inclement weather between December 16/17, the Department responded to numerous calls for trees and wires down over roadways, resulting in obstructions. These calls were throughout the coverage area, primarily in West Cocalico Township north of the Turnpike.
12-18-2007 D.U.I. Crash
Russell H. Morgan, 45, Reinholds, faces DUI and related traffic charges after a three-vehicle crash on Col. Howard Blvd. at 5:34PM December 18. Morgan had exited Rt. 222 and turned left onto the east-bound lane of travel of Col. Howard Blvd. After nearly striking several vehicles, he sideswiped a vehicle driven by Brian Nicarry, 40, Denver, and continued to drive against the direction of traffic. He then struck a vehicle driven by Joseph Schilling, 59, East Earl, head on. Neither Nicarry or Schilling was injured. Morgan was taken to ECH for a blood test, which indicated that he was over the legal alcohol limit. He will be summoned to appear before MDJ Hamill on the charges. [EC]
12-18-2007 D.U.I.
Police stopped Robert A. Kline, 52, Reinholds, for an equipment violation in the 300 block of Main Street, Denver, at 8:45PM December 18. Kline displayed signs of intoxication, and a blood test at ECH indicated that he had a BAC of .16%. He will faces DUI charges as a result. [DB]
