A BMX type bicycle, valued at $350, was reported stolen from 49 North Reamstown Rd. on August 28. [EC]
08-28-2007 Burglary
A forced entry was made into the Denver Mennonite Meeting House at 93 Monroe Street, Denver, during the night of August 28/29. [DB]
08-28-2007 Vandalism
A rock was thrown through a glass door at Ultimate Apparel, 531 North 4th Street, Denver, during the night of August 28/29. The damage is estimated at $500. [DB]
08-30-2007 Theft
Two metal patio chairs were reported stolen from the Vito Vino Wine Shop on Village Circle in Adamstown Borough on August 30. The value is $200.00. [AB]
08-30-2007 Vehicle Theft
A 1999 Dodge Neon sedan was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Denver House, 240 Main Street, Denver, at 11:00Pm August 30. It was located about 30 minutes after the report. [DB]
08-31-2007 Disturbance
Ricky L. Sweigart, 43, 50 N. Reamstown Rd., was charged with Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, and Recklessly Endangering after an incident at his residence at 9:30PM August 31. Sweigart had threatened to shoot John Reider, same address. Sweigart was arraigned before MDJ Willwerth, Ephrata, and committed to LCP in lieu of $50,000 bail. [EC]
09-02-2007 Crash
Police are investigating a crash that occurred on September 2 at 12:25AM in the first block of East Swartzville Rd. A vehicle operated by Andrew L. Zerbe, 34, Womelsdorf, left the roadway, traveled approximately 300 feet, and struck a house at 64 east Swartzville Rd. causing major damage to the structure. Zerbe was located in a soybean field after leaving the scene. [EC]
09-03-2007 Assault/Theats
Four Denver juveniles face multiple charges after an incident at the Denver park, 800 Main Street, on September 3. The four are alleged to have assaulted a 14-year old Spruce Street juvenile and an 11-year old Monroe Street juvenile. Two of the juveniles, ages 15 and 13, reside in the 500 block of Main Street, and the other two on Monroe Street. The two Main Street residents are in juvenile detention. [DB]
09-04-2007 Robbery
On September 4, 2007 at approximately 1:35 AM, the Sunoco A-Plus Store located at 1404 N. Reading Road, Stevens, East Cocalico Township, was robbed. The suspect, described as a white male, 5’8” to 5’10”, 180 pounds, short dark hair, reportedly displayed a knife with a long blade during the incident.
The clerk was not injured. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken by the suspect.
The incident is being investigated by the East Cocalico Township Police Department. (EC)
