08-20-2007 Theft

Occurred between 8/20 and 8/22 in the first block of N. 4th St., Denver. Michelle Auker reported a bicycle valued at $100 was removed from her patio area. (DB)

08-23-2007 DUI Crash

Occurred 8/23/07 at 0540 hours in the first block of W. Church St., Stevens. Amanda Chenoweth, 39 years of age, Keeler Ave., Stevens, PA was southbound on Faust Lane and failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the W. Church St. curb. Chenoweth displayed signs of intoxication and failed Standardized Field Sobriety tests. Chenoweth was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for a blood alcohol test. Charges against Chenoweth are pending results of the blood test. (EC)

08-24-2007 DUI Crash

Occurred 8/24/07 at 0338 hours in the 800 block of Sportsman Road, Denver. Jade Buchter, 22 years of age, E. Franklin St., Ephrata failed to stop at a posted stop sign at Greenville Rd. and N. Peartown Rd. and hit a tree. Buchter then left the scene, but was located on Greenville Road. Buchter displayed signs of intoxication and was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for a blood test. Charges against Buchter are pending results of the blood test. (WC)

08-25-2007 Crash

Occurred 8/25/07 at 2117 hours in the 700 block of Reinholds Road, Denver. Joshua J. Raser, 22 years of age, W. Swartzville Rd., Reinholds was traveling south in the 700 block of Reinholds Road, lost control and vaulted into the air and struck a tree on the passenger’s side. Both driver and passenger, Bernard Eric Olsson, 19 years of age, 5th Ave., Denver, PA where heavily entrapped. Both suffered moderate injuries. Both were flown from the scene and transported to Reading Hospital. Investigation into the accident is continuing. (EC)

08-24-2007 Simple Assault

Occurred 8/24/07 at 1958 hours in the first block of W. Church St., Reamstown. Charges will be filed against Natalia Canarte, 20 years of age, Monroe St., Denver after Canarte struck the victim numerous times. At the time of the incident the victim was holding a 4 month old child. Charges of Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering will be filed against Canarte. (EC)

08-25-2007 Vehicle Theft

Occurred between 8/25/07 and 8/26/07 in the 100 block of W. Queen St., Stevens. Richard Keller, W. Queen St., Stevens, reported unknown actors stole his 1997 Ford F350 pickup truck, gray in color, from his property. Truck is valued at $10,000. (WC)

08-26-2007 Public Drunkenness

Occurred 8/26/07 at 0132 hours in the 300 block of Main St., Denver. Leon Gehman, Jr., E. Main St., Reinholds, was charged with Public Drunkenness after he caused a disturbance in the above location. (DB)
