08-12-2007 Burglary / Vehicle Theft

Occurred between 8/12 and 8/13 at Al’s Exxon, 2292 N. Reading Rd., Denver. Unknown actors forcibly entered the above business and removed keys to a vehicle that was in the parking lot for service. This vehicle was recovered on 8/13. (EC)

08-12-2007 Theft

Occurred between 8/12 and 8/13 in the first block of Mechanic St., Reinholds. Victim Richard Rinier, Mechanic St., Reinholds, reported unknown actors entered his unlocked vehicle and removed approx. $40.00 in cash. (WC)

08-13-2007 Retail Theft

Occurred 8/13/07 at 1635 hours at Weaver Markets, 2610 N. Reading Rd., Denver. Arrested: Jean Small, 21 years of age, Hayloft Rd., Denver, PA and Crystal Moreno, 23 years of age, Old School Lane, Bowmansville, PA. Both were cited for Retail Theft after witnesses observed the two placing items in a purse. Items totaled $6.00. (EC)

08-13-2007 Burglary

Occurred 8/13/07 in the 1300 block of Indiantown Road, Stevens. Unknown actors entered the property of Tom Carbaugh, Indiantown Road, Stevens and removed cash and miscellaneous other property. Total property loss of approximately $40.00. (WC)

08-14-2007 Harassment

Occurred 8/14/07 at 1619 hours on Edie Dr., Denver. A 12 year old female juvenile was cited for Harassment stemming from an incident where she kicked the victim in the ribs during an argument. (EC)

08-14-2007 Public Drunkenness

Occurred 8/14/07 at 1725 hours at The Denver House, 240 Main St., Denver. Nicholas F. Filllips, Jr, 37 years of age, Alleghaneyville Road, Mohnton, PA, was charged with Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct after an incident at the above location. (DB)

08-14-2007 Criminal Mischief

Occurred 8/14/07 at 2030 hours at 34 N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown, Good’s Funeral Home. Newly installed landscaping at Good’s Funeral Home was damaged. Total damage is approximately $300.00. (EC)

08-14-2007 Disorderly Conduct

Occurred 8/14/07 at 2159 hours in the 300 block of Railroad Street, Denver. Theresa Richardson, 44 years of age, Miller Road, Denver, was cited for Disorderly Conduct after an incident at the above location. (DB)

08-14-2007 Theft

Occurred between 8/14/07 and 8/15/07 at Adams Antiques, 2400 N. Reading Rd., Denver. Unknown actors broke into a soda machine located in front of Adams Antiques. Approx. $200.00 damage was done to the soda machine and approx. $200.00 in cash was removed from the soda machine. (EC)

08-16-2007 Receiving Stolen Property

Occurred 8/16/07 at 1043 hours in the first block of S. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown. A 16 year old male juvenile will be charged with Receiving Stolen Property. The male was in possession of a mountain bike that he did not have permission to have. (EC)

08-15-2007 Burglary

Occurred 8/15/07 to 8/16/07 at Adamstown Eye Care, 2654 N. Reading Rd., Reinholds. Unknown actors forcibly entered the above business and removed frames, cash and medicine. Total amount of loss is unknown at this time. (EC)

08-15-2007 Theft

Occurred between 8/15/07 and 8/16/07 at Denver Truck Painting, 181 Muddy Creek Church Rd., Denver. Unknown actors removed a purple truck cab roof and miscellaneous truck parts from the rear of the business. Total amount of loss is estimated at $1,000.00 (EC)

08-10-2007 Criminal Mischief

Occurred between 8/10/07 and 8/16/07 in the 200 block of E. Main St., Adamstown. Eileen Martin, E. Main St., Adamstown, reported unknown actors threw a rock at a window in her residence, shattering it. Reported property damage is $250.00. (AB)

08-17-2007 Crash

Occurred 8/17/07 at 1737 hours in the 2300 block of N. Reading Rd., Denver. Driver 1: Renee Cheryl Struzinski, 36 years of age, School Ln, Stevens. Pedestrian: Peter Glover, 54 years of age, Lynda Dr., Denver. Struzinski was stopped in a driveway to the Muddy Creek Shops, waiting to turn left onto N. Reading Rd. Glover was on a bicycle traveling south, on the shoulder of N. Reading Rd. Struzinksi started to pull onto the roadway, saw Glover approaching, and stopped. Glover could not avoid the front end of Struzinski’s vehicle and he crashed into the side of it. Glover was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital by Reamstown Ambulance and Medic 4. No injuries to Struzinski or passengers in her vehicle. Charges are pending. (EC)

08-18-2007 DUI Crash

Occurred 8/18/07 at 0320 hours at W. Church St. and N. Reading Rd., Stevens. Driver 1/Arrested: Robert R. Ross, 31 years of age, E. Main St., Ephrata. Driver 2: Sherman Ewing, 25 years of age, E. Queen St., Stevens. Ewing was stopped at the red traffic light on W. Church St. The light turned green and Ewing waited for an ambulance to travel through the intersection. Ross failed to stop behind Ewing and rear ended Ewing. Ross displayed signs of intoxication and was unable to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Ross was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for a blood test. Tests results indicated Ross had a BAC of .222%. Charges are pending against Ross. (EC)

08-19-2007 DUI

Occurred 8/19/07 at 0110 hours on Rt. 222 northbound. Arrested: Jorge Ortiz-Rodriguez, 37 years of age, North Court, Reading, PA. Officers were dispatched for a reckless driver on Rt. 222. Ortiz-Rodriguez was clocked going 50 MPH in a 65 MPH zone and was driving erratically. Ortiz-Rodriguez was stopped and displayed signs of intoxication. Ortiz-Rodriguez failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was taken to Ephrata Hospital for a blood test. Test results indicated Ortiz-Rodriguez had a BAC of .098%. Charges pending against Ortiz-Rodriguez. (EC)

08-19-2007 Crash

Occurred 8/19/07 in the 200 block of Creek Rd., Denver. Steven Serrano, 18 years of age, Creek Rd., Denver was traveling southbound on Creek Road, lost control and struck a tree. Driver had minor knee injury and signed off treatment by ambulance personnel. (WC)

08-20-2007 DUI Crash

Occurred 8/20/07 at 2056 hours in the 200 block of N. King St., Stevens. Driver/ Arrested: Jason R. Mohn, 24 years of age, Forest Hill Rd., Stevens. Mohn lost control wilt traveling southbound on N. King St., exited the road and struck a ditch. Mohn was not injured. Mohn displayed signs of intoxication and failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Mohn was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for a blood test. Test results indicated Mohn had a BAC of .203%. Charges of DUI, and various summary traffic violations will be filed against Mohn. (WC)
