07-18-2007 Assault

Assault: On 7/18/07 at 2155 hours, the East Cocalico Township Police were dispatched to 73 E. Washington St., Adamstown borough for an assault which had just occurred. Upon investigation, it was determined that the victim in the assault came home from church and interrupted two individuals who were in the process of entering multiple vehicles in the area. Billy Mcrae, 41 years of age, E. Main St., Reinholds and Stacey Mcrae, 36 years of age, E. Main St., Reinholds were the individuals in the vehicles. Billy Mcrae punched the female victim, who at the time, was holding her 1 year old son. The Mcrae’s then fled in a car stolen from that area. Further investigation revealed the following time line of events: • The Mcrae’s crashed their car in a field in Spring Township, Berks County, disabling it. • The Mcrae’s then stole a vehicle from Install America located in the area of the crash in Berks County and drove it to the Bollman Hat Factory, where they abandoned it. • The Mcrae’s then broke the window of vehicle parked in the Bollman Hat Factory parking lot, entered the truck and damaged it while trying to locate the keys to steal the truck. • The Mcrae’s then entered a Ford Explorer owned by another employee of Bollman Hat Factory, damaged the steering column in an apparent attempt to steal it. • The Mcrae’s then smashed the window of a PT Cruiser and rummaged through it, looking for keys to steal the vehicle. • The Mcrae’s continued entering vehicles in the first block of E. Washington St. before they were interrupted by the victim described earlier. When interrupted, the victim was punched in the face by Billy Mcrae. The Mcrae’s then fled the scene. • The Mcrae’s then entered and stole an unlocked Buick parked on E. Washington St. The vehicle was later recovered after it crashed in South Heidelberg Township, Berks County. Stacey Mcrae is charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking (felony) and Criminal Conspiracy (Felony). She was arraigned before MAD Ham ill. Bail was set at $10,000, which was posted and she was released. Billy Mcrae was picked upon a warrant issued on the charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking (felony) and Criminal Conspiracy (felony). He posted $10,000 bail and was released. (AB)

07-18-2007 Attempted Theft

Occurred between 7/18 and 7/19 at 403 N. 5th St., Denver. Unknown actors tried to remove money from the soda machines at Leffler Energy, 403 N. 6th St., Denver. (DB)

07-19-2007 Retail Theft

Occurred 7/19/07 at 1635 hours at Weaver Markets, 2610 N. Reading Rd., Denver. Tonia Lynn Slocum, 18 years of age, Hayloft Rd., Denver was charged with Retail Theft after she placed deodorant in her purse and walked out of the store without paying for the item. (EC)

07-19-2007 Criminal Mischief

Occurred between 7/19/07 and 7/20/07 in the 200 block of W. Main St., Adamstown. Unknown actors damaged a fence and chicken feeder in a chicken coop. A chicken valued at $5.00 was also missing from the chicken coop. (AB)

07-20-2007 DUI Crash

Occurred 7/20/07 at 2321 hours at N. Reamstown Rd. and E. Church St., Reamstown. Driver#1/arrested: Jackie Conner, 26 years of age, E. Main St., Lititz, PA was traveling south on N. Reamstown Rd. Driver #2 Dustin Raysor, E. Church St., Reamstown, was traveling west on E. Church St. Conner traveled through the stop sign and struck Raysor. Conner displayed signs of intoxication and failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Conner was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for blood tests. Test results indicated Conner had a BAC of .143%. Charges pending against Conner. (EC)

07-21-2007 Public Drunkenness/Disorderly Conduct

Occurred 7/21/07 at 2329 hours in the first block of Kurtz Rd., Denver. Tabitha Schmidt, 26 years of age, Fausnacht Dr., Denver, was charged with Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct after a disturbance at the above location. (EC)

07-22-2007 Theft

Occurred 7/22/07 in the 400 block of Main St., Denver. Kristina Parks reported two strollers were removed from the ground floor of her apartment building. The stroller’s were valued at $55.00 (DB)

07-22-2007 Agricultural Vandalism

Occurred on 7/22/07 in the 200 block of Meadow Rd., Reinholds. Andrew Augsburger reported unknown actors drove ATV’s through his cornfield. Unknown damage amount at this time. (WC)

07-19-2007 Criminal Mischief

Occurred between 7/19/07 and 7/23/07 in the 700 block of Locust St., Denver. A vehicle owned by Dennis Papich was scratched. Damage amount is approx. $300.00. (DB)
