06-05-2007 Curfew Violation

A 15-year old Denver juvenile was found to be in violation of the Borough curfew at 12:46AM June 5 in the 300 block of Locust Street in the Borough. She had been a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for an equipment violation, and the 17-year old driver did not have a license. [DB]

06-06-2007 Domestic

Randy Lee Stapleton, 42, 336 North 9th Street, Denver, was arrested and charged with Simple Assault and Harassment in connection with a domestic disturbance at his residence at 12:32AM June 5. Stapleton was arraigned before MDL Hamill and committed to LCP in lieu of $5000 bail. [DB]

06-04-2007 Theft

Ten hanging flower baskets, valued at $120, were reported stolen from Winning Touch Nursery, 1236 North Reading Road, between 11:00PM June 4 and 6:25AM June 5. [EC]

06-05-2007 Crash

Arthur R. Morgan, 30, Ephrata, was injured in a one-vehicle crash on US Rt. 222 South at 7:10PM June 5. Morgan lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He was transported to LGH for treatment. [EC]

06-05-2007 Arrest

On June 5 David Edward Chohany Jr., 24, Lancaster, was charged with Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Indecent Assault, and Corruption of Minors on June 5, as the result of incidents that occurred between October 2005 and August 2006 involving a 9-year old Stevens area boy. Chohany was arraigned before MDJ Hamill and committed to LCP in lieu of $20,000 bail.

06-06-2007 Disorderly Conduct

A 16-year old Adamstown juvenile from the first block of West Main Street was cited by police on June 6 after he was found to be burning his school books in his back yard, causing the smoke to enter the neighbor’s basement. The Adamstown Fire Company also responded. [AB]

06-06-2007 Disorderly Conduct

A 16-year old Reamstown juvenile was cited for Disorderly Conduct on June 6, after an incident in the 100 block of Park Street, Reamstown, involving a BB pistol. [EC]

06-07-2007 Disorderly Conduct

Jessica Candalaria, 19, and Ashley Benn, 18, both of Stevens, were cited with Disorderly Conduct after a disturbance in the parking lot of the Wachovia Bank at 1 North Reamstown Rd. at 9:40PM June 7. [EC]

06-08-2007 Public Drunkenness

Michael Brown, 21, Stevens, and Joshua Gettle, 21, Denver, were both cited with Public Drunkenness after they were involved in a disturbance outside of Zia Maria Restaurant, 2350 North Reading Rd. at 1:34AM June 8. [EC]

06-08-2007 DUI

Kevin Scott Pentz, 42, Ephrata, faces DUI charges after he was stopped for erratic driving in the 1500 block of North Reading Road at 1:00AM June 8. A blood test at ECH indicated he had a BAC of .10%. [EC]

06-10-2007 Domestic Assault

Police arrested Edward R. Collemacine, 50, 529 South 4th Street, Denver, as a result of a domestic disturbance at his residence at 9:15PM June 10. He was arraigned before MDJ Willwerth, Ephrata, and committed to LCP in lieu of $10,000 bail. [DB]
