05-30-2007 Underage Drinking

Occurred 5/30/07 at 0035 hours in the first block of W. Main St., Reinholds. Joseph Lee Druckenmiller, 18 years of age, Reinholds Rd., Denver and a 17 year old male from Reinholds were both charged with Underage Drinking. (WC)

05-31-2007 Firearms Violation

Occurred 5/31/07 at 2112 hours at the Black Horse Restaurant, 2170 N. Reading Rd., Denver. Bruce A. MacDowell, 46 years of age, W. Queen St., Stevens, was charged with Carrying a Firearm without a License and Defiant Trespass. Officers received a report of a reckless motorcycle driver and found MacDowell at the Black Horse Restaurant. Earlier in the evening MacDowell had been asked to leave the establishment and not return. MacDowell was arraigned on the charges before MDJ Nancy Hamill and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail. (EC)

05-31-2007 Vehicle Theft

Occurred between 5/31/07 and 6/1/07 in the 400 block of Smokestown Road, Denver. Clair Mast, Smokestown Rd., Denver, reported a 1983 Chevrolet Caprice, green in color, with PA registration EHY-0141 was stolen from his property during the above time frame. (EC)

06-01-2007 Assault

Occurred 6/1/07 at 1843 hours in the first block of Homestead Dr., Denver. Arrested: Berad Ozdemir, 29 years of age, unknown address. Ozdemir stabbed the victim on the front porch of a residence on Homestead Dr., Denver. The victim received multiple stab wounds to his arm and chest. The victim was taken to Reading Trauma Center for treatment. The victim has been released from the hospital. A warrant has been obtained for Ozdemir’s arrest. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ozdemir is asked to contact East Cocalico Township Police Department, 717-336-1725.

06-01-2007 Burglary

Occurred between 6/1/07 and 6/2/07 at Cocalico Self Storage, 99 W. Church St., Denver. Unknown actors entered the business and removed cash and computer equipment. The approximate amount of property taken is $3,000.00. (EC)

06-02-2007 Theft

Occurred 6/2/07 at 2122 in the 200 block of Main St., Denver. Ruth Brumbach, Newmanstown, reported her purse was taken from a picnic table. The purse contained cash and other personal items valued at $200.00. (DB)

06-03-2007 Arson/Dangerous Burning

Occurred 6/3/07 at 0203 hours in the first block of N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown. William Lyle Oakes, 47 years of age, N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown, was charged with Arson/Dangerous Burning, a summary violation, for lighting an empty dresser on fire in his yard. (EC)

06-03-2007 DUI Crash

Occurred 6/3/07 at 0213 hours in the 300 block of N. 6th St., Denver. Brian K. Royer, 26 years of age, W. Franklin St., Ephrata, was traveling north on N. 6th St. and struck the curb. This caused damage to the passenger rear tire. Royer continued to travel on N. 6th St., turning onto Pine St. at which point the tire rim was cracked. Driver was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Royer failed Standardized Field Sobriety tests and was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for a blood test. Tests results revealed Royer had a BAC of .215%. Charges are pending against Royer. (DB)

05-31-2007 Burglary

Occurred between 5/31/07 and 6/4/07 at Grace Construction & Remodeling, 145 N. Line Rd., Denver. Unknown actors entered the building and removed approximately $2,700.00 of tools. (EC)

06-03-2007 Criminal Mischief

Occurred between 6/3/07 and 6/4/07 in the 300 block of Railroad St., Denver. Joseph Howe, Main St., Denver, reported unknown actors slashed a tire on his vehicle. Approximate damage amount of $100.00. (DB)
