04-13-2008 Drug Violation

On April 13 at 9:00AM officers were called to Stoudt’s Antique Mall, 7800 North Reading Road, Adamstown, for an intoxicated person. The individual was identified as Jessica L. Baker, 37, Lancaster, after she had displayed several forms of false identification. She was also found to have drug paraphernalia on her person, and an active Lancaster County bench Warrant was served on her at the time. She was turned over to Sherriff’s Deputies. [AB]

04-14-2008 Theft

A Cut-Off Saw and a Compound Mitre Saw, with a combined value of $1500, were reported stolen from the shop of Harvey Achey Construction, 27 North Reamstown Rd. on April 14. [EC]

04-14-2008 Fights

A 17-year old Denver juvenile was cited for harassment after a fight at Cocalico High School on April 14. The following day, a Stevens juvenile was cited for punching the offender from the day before. [DB]

03-17-2008 Burglary Arrest

Larry Lee Weaver, 43, and Anthony Paul Buck, 42, both of Denver, were charged with Burglary, Criminal Conspiracy, and Theft in relation to an incident that occurred on march 17 in the 2300 block of North Reading Road. In that incident, approximately $3600 worth of copper wire welding leads were taken from a business at that location. Both were arraigned before MDJ Hamill and committed to LCP in lieu of bail. [EC]

04-15-2008 Drug Arrest

At 6:45PM April 15, officers assisted the Lancaster County Drug Task Force in effecting the arrest of Jeffrey J. Merk, 28, of 221 Pleasant Valley Road, an employee at the Black Horse Hotel & Suites. Merk was charged with two counts of Delivery of Marijuana, two counts of Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Endangering The Welfare of Children and Corruption of Minors. The arrest was the result of a joint investigation that began several months ago. Merk was arraigned before MDJ Hamill and incarcerated in LCP in lieu of $100,000 bail. [EC]

04-16-2008 Theft

Archery gear valued at over $300 was reported stolen from an outbuilding on the Pajeski property, in the 1200 block of Texter Mountain Road on April 16. [WC]

04-16-2008 Crash

Derek Bollinger, 19, West Cocalico Twp., was cited for Careless Driving as the result of a two-car crash in the 3100 block of North Reading Road in Adamstown at 6:10PM April 16. Bollinger struck the rear end of a car that was stopped in front of him waiting to turn left into a parking lot. The occupants of that vehicle, Sylvia and Derek Simpson, Ephrata, were taken to Reading Hospital for treatment. [AB]

04-17-2008 Public Drunkenness

William Edward Meadows III, 24, Louisa, VA, was cited for Public Drunkenness after an incident on April 17 at 9:00PM. Meadows had caused a disturbance at the bar at the Holiday Inn, 1 Denver Rd., and then ran behind the Turkey Hill store across the street. [EC]

04-20-2008 Warrant Service

Noel Benitez, 31, Martin Road, Stevens, was picked up and held for State Parole agents for a parole violation at 5:25PM in the first block of West Church Street on April 20. [EC].
