Sgt. Burns has been a member of the Police Department since 1983. Originally from Bucks County, he moved to the Cocalico area upon being hired by the Department. He currently lives in the Reinholds area. He has two grown children, both who graduated from Cocalico High School. He has served as an undercover narcotics investigator, traffic safety officer, firearms instructor,supervises the Department's field training program for newly hired officers and supervises the Department's crime prevention and community relations programs. When off duty Sgt Burns enjoys volunteering in the community, hunting, running 5k's, spending time with his granddaughter and spending time at a family retreat in Mifflin County.
Young people need to take ownership of their community. Hold yourself and others accountable for their actions. Make good life decisions. The decisions you make today can affect you for the rest of your life.
